How to Choose the Perfect Makeup Palette

Makeups should enhance and accentuate one’s features not the other way around. Many Singaporean women apply makeup whether going out to party or to work. That seems to be acceptable. What is not acceptable is not using it accordingly. Why not start by learning how to choose the perfect makeup palette? Choosing the perfect makeup palette can make a difference at the end of the day.

You can say that you have the perfect makeup palette when your eye, cheek and lip color flatter your beauty. If not, it is time that you learn how to choose the right makeup palette. Choosing the perfect palette is also an art and science. If you religiously learn it, you will surely be successful. Here are some things that you need to consider in terms of choosing the perfect palette:

Skin Undertones

The first lesson that you need to consider is how to determine your skin tone. It is imperative that you determine your skin tone first because it will serve as your basis when choosing the perfect makeup palette. When determining your skin tone, you should stand in a well-lit room. Remember to remove your makeup. In the mirror, try examining your cheeks closely.

If you have peach-colored skin, the best undertone includes orange or gold. This means that you will look good using earthy hues like green, brown, gold and coral. If you have pink-colored skin, the best undertone includes violet or blue. You should consider colors like purple, pinks and pastel; burgundies and reds are also best colors for you.

Skin Tone

Now that you know your color, it should confine and refine your search. Stop thinking about other colors. If you have very fair skin, you have to use dark colors carefully. Save dark colors for special evening occasions. For dark-skinned girls, choose bright or light hues. If you are in the middle, you only need to mix dark and light hues.

Balancing Hues

Now for the final touch, you need to balance hues. You should be careful not to apply bold or dark shades to cheeks, eyes and lips at the same time. Just identify a starting point (one area of your face) and apply dark colors keeping the rest in neutral or light hues.

Buying for makeup is not easy with the coming of formulations and different palette but it doesn’t mean that you have to stop applying makeup. Just believe in the power of enough makeup. The point of this article is to help you avoid overdoing it and making other mistakes.
